Orlando City have confirmed they are taking São Paulo to court in a bid to recover almost €4.5 million in lost payments and interest from their Kaká loan to the club last year.
Orlando have also offered a compromise deal involving São Paulo’s Paulo Henrique Ganso, with City keen to take the playmaker in return for canceling the debt and an additional cash of €1.7M in transfer fees. São Paulo had turned down the Ganso offer, and Orlando are expected to stop pursuing the 25-year-old.
