Lazio defender Bruno Pereirinha is closing in on a move to Atlético Paranaense, according to reports.

Radio PRC, as cited by website Football Italia, claims that the versatile Portuguese native has already passed a medical and is seemingly set to make a switch to Brazil.

No fee for the transfer has been stated at this stage and with his contract at Lazio running until June 2016, it is unclear whether he will be granted a free transfer or if a sum will be demanded.

Pereirinha has largely been a squad player for Lazio since arriving from Sporting CP in January 2013.

The 27 year-old has gone on to make 27 appearances, though last season he featured just five times across Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Prior to moving to Lazio, Pereirinha had loan spells with Nea Kavala FC and Vitória de Guimarães, while for Sporting he made 138 appearances across a seven year spell and won three major honours.

His departure from Lazio has perhaps been forced by the arrival of defender Patric, who was picked up from Barcelona, while should he complete his expected switch to Atlético Paranaense, he will join a team that is currently 8th in the Brasileirão.
