Palmeiras midfielder Jorge Valdivia has confirmed that he will be leaving Palmeiras and moving back to the United Arab Emirates.

Valdivia has just returned from winning the Copa America with Chile. His performances during the tournament led to a host of clubs showing an interest in the 31 year old but it is Al Wahda FC who have captured his signature.

Valdivia previously left Palmeiras in 2006 to join Al Ain who are also based in the UAE. He returned to Palmeiras in 2010 and has made over 150 appearances in his two spells at the club.

Palmeiras president Alexandre Mattos had previously stated that he was doing every he could to keep one of the club’s main midfielders. It obviously wasn’t enough.
