FC Nantes Atlantique manager Michel Der Zakarian has been eager to highlight new signing Adryan’s versatility.

The former Brazil under-17 and under-20 international was signed on loan from Flamengo earlier this month and is expected to remain in Pays de la Loire until June 2016.

Adryan’s arrival at Nantes has caused quite a stir amongst the club’s fans, despite his indifferent spell at Football League Championship outfit Leeds United last season.

For Der Zakarian, Adryan is a capable player, while the tactician is seemingly eager to utilise his ability to adopt various roles.

“He can dribble, he can hit set pieces, he can play behind the strikers in a midfield diamond or in an attacking triangle in a 4-3-3,” he told French daily newspaper L’Équipe, as reported by website Inside Futbol.

Adryan’s stint with Leeds came on the back of a similarly mixed time at Cagliari. He joined the Italian side on loan from Flamengo in January 2014, but made just five appearances, before following owner Massimo Cellino to Leeds in August of the same year.

With the Whites, he also only managed to feature sporadically, making just 13 appearances in a fairly unsteady campaign for the Yorkshire based club.
