Despite the intense competition he faces for a starting spot in the Spanish capital, the Brazilian insists he is happy and keen to stay.
Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva intends to fight for his place under new coach Rafael Benítez next season despite the competition for places in the centre. Lucas stated he is determined to force his way into Benítez’s plans. He told MARCA: “I’m only thinking about staying at Real, getting more playing time and finding my place in the team. Benítez is a very hardworking coach who wants committed players and I think I fit that profile rather well. I’ve taken advantage of the holidays to relax, although I’ve been training for a few days now so I’m raring to go. I’m prepared technically and psychologically in order to make a good start to the pre-season.”
