Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to face Lionel Messi and Neymar at the 2016 Olympics next year.
The 30-year-old could reportedly be selected as one of Portugal’s three over-age players for the U23 competition. Fernando Gomes, president of the Portuguese Football Federation, confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is in contention for the squad after Portugal’s U21 side qualified for the Rio Olympics by making the last four at the current U21 European Championship. He said: “It is a possibility. We can take three players over the age of 23. Cristiano is one of the hypotheses, but we have still not sat down to discuss it.”
