Thiago Silva says he cannot remember the handball which allowed Paraguay to equalise against Brazil last night, going on to defeat Dunga’s men on penalties.
A penalty was awarded to Paraguay for the incident, with Derlis Gonzalez converting to equalise Robinho’s opener, taking the game to a shoot out, where Brazil were knocked out of the Copa America by Paraguay at the quarter final stage for the second time in succession.
However, the Paris Saint-Germain centre-back was shocked to see TV replays which showed he had clearly handled the ball, claiming not to remember doing so.
He told Globoesporte: “I don’t remember touching the ball with my hand. We asked the referee and he said he didn’t know who touched it, that he knew it was someone but not who. He left without giving any explanation. Sincerely I don’t remember touching the ball with my hand.”
