UAE Arabian Gulf League side Al-Wahda FC have confirmed that they have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Denílson from São Paulo.
The Abu Dhabi based outfit announced on their official Twitter feed that the Brazilian had been tied to a three-year deal, while reports suggest the fee paid to São Paulo is around €3.1 million.
Denílson’s move to the United Arab Emirates brings to an end his second spell with São Paulo.
He initially started his career with them and was part of the side that won the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship [now FIFA Club World Cup], before moving on to Arsenal for a reported fee of €5 million in August 2006.
Denílson would score ten goals in 154 appearances during his time with the Gunners, but after falling out of favour, he returned to São Paulo on loan in July 2011, before eventually re-signing for them on a free transfer in July 2013.
In his second stint at the club, he won the 2012 Copa Sudamericana and had featured 17 times in all competitions so far this season.
His switch to Al-Wahda coincides with the appointment of former Japan and Atlético de Madrid tactician Javier Aguirre as manager, while he will play alongside Argentinian attacking midfielder, Damián Díaz.
