Thiago Silva has insisted that he is not worried about his place in the Brazilian team after being left on the bench during their 2-0 win against Mexico.

Silva was thought to be one of the key players for the Seleção but Dunga preferred to use David Luiz and Miranda in central defence against the Mexicans. Silva said he hopes to now get his chance in Brazil’s next friendly against Honduras on Wednesday.

“This is a new situation for me but I am totally ok with this,” said Silva. “I hope to have a new opportunity and as always I’ll be ready if the coach needs me. Now I want to give strength to the group in this particular time so that we can be well prepared.”
