Brazil stepped up their preparation for the Copa America with an easy 2-0 win against Mexico.
The boys in yellow started the friendly by dominating the Mexican midfield and took the lead when Philippe Coutinho fired in from an acute angle. The diminutive midfielder celebrated the 28th minute strike fiercely as he looks to cement his place in Dunga’s side.
It wasn’t long before the Seleção doubled their advantage with a well worked goal in the 37th minute. Elias was the provider with a surging run from the left and his cut back was tapped in by Diego Tardelli.
Brazil started with Tardelli as a lone front man with Coutinho operating just behind him. It remains to be seen what team and formation Dunga plays against Honduras in Brazil’s final friendly before the tournament on Wednesday.
Brazil line up: Jefferson, Danilo, David Luiz, Filipe Luis, Miranda, Elias, Fernandinho, Fred, Coutinho, Willian, Diego Tardelli
