Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo has denied that he has received an offer to join Internazionale.

The Serie A outfit are managed by Roberto Mancini, who worked with Melo between September 2013 and June 2014, when he was Head Coach of Galatasaray.

Reports on Monday morning suggested that the duo could be reunited in Milan, but Melo has been quick to squash the talk, insisting he remains focused on Galatasaray.

“I haven’t received any offer from Inter, this is just news that appears in the papers but that doesn’t correspond with the truth,” he said, as reported by website Football Italia.

“Mancini has spoken well of me and I’m happy because we always like to receive compliments and hear nice words.

“I’m focused on Galatasaray and on the match that remains before the end of the season.”

Melo was signed outright by Galatasaray from Juventus in August 2013 for a reported fee of €3.75 million. The 31 year-old, who is contracted until June 2016, had spent the previous two seasons on loan in Istanbul.

During his time with Galatasaray, Melo has won six major honours, including this year’s Spor Toto Süper Lig.

Throughout the campaign, he has featured 33 times in all competitions, scoring twice.
