São Paulo have officially announced that Colombian Juan Carlos Osório has been appointed as their new coach.
Osório agreed to join São Paulo following talks with the club’s president Carlos Miguel Aidar in Medellín last week, and he will replace Muricy Ramalho, who stepped down in April. Osório had been with Colombian club Atlético Nacional since 2012, where he won six titles. The 52-year-old coach previously managed Colombia’s Once Caldas and worked for the Chicago Fire and the New York Red Bulls in the Major League Soccer. He also coached Puebla in Mexico and was an assistant coach at Premier League side Manchester City for five seasons.
