Daniel Alves has insisted in a press conference that he remains fully committed to Barcelona.

The Brazil international – capped 79 times since 2006 – is out of contract in June and, as yet, has not confirmed whether he will agree renewed terms, or look to move on.

Alves believes he has been disrespected by some of the stories that have been published regarding his contract saga and is also adamant to point out that he is completely focused on Barcelona, at least in the short-term, and will not be motivated to leave by the chance of making better money elsewhere.

"I’m here because I’ve been disrespected and a lot of rubbish has been written about me," he said, as reported by website Football Espana.

"I want to do my talking on the pitch because then everyone can make their own minds up [about my commitment].

"Unfortunately, [people] are too stupid to do that and I’ve reached my limit. I’m not here to answer anything but to defend myself.

"I’m not thinking about money but only to be valued for what I do, and I don’t think the club value me in the way I deserve.

"I’ll happily leave before they kick me out, but what I won’t accept are [accusations of being a mercenary] because I’ve always worked hard for this club, including this season.

"For now I’ll continue to give 200 percent to the team, but I have both feet and my head out of the club."

Alves was signed by Barcelona from Sevilla for a reported fee of €35.5 million in July 2008. Since then, he has featured over 340 times for the club and won 17 major honours.

This season, he has played 44 matches in all competitions and has a chance of winning a treble if Barcelona can see off Athletic Club and Juventus in their upcoming Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League finals.
