Internazionale and West Ham United will compete to sign Sampdoria forward Éder, according to reports.

Italian newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport, as cited by website Football Italia, claims that the 28 year-old is set to attract notable interest in the summer transfer window.

It is suggested that West Ham have already tabled a bid of around €8 million for him, with Sampdoria said to want nearer €10 million.

West Ham’s pursuit of Éder is expected to be complicated by Inter, who are eager to secure him, even if they do not qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

The Nerazzurri sold young forward Federico Bonazzoli to Sampdoria in the January transfer window and with Samuel Eto’o and Luis Muriel also arriving at the latter in the same month, it is plausible that Éder could move on.

The Italy international – he was born in Brazil, but has represented the Azzurri – has had a memorable season with Sampdoria.

In 31 appearances in all competitions, he has managed 12 goals, as well as five assists. He also netted on his Italy debut in a draw against Bulgaria, but has seen his campaign curtailed since the end of April, due to injury.

With his contract running until June 2017, Sampdoria are under no pressure to sell. But with the opportunity to make a significant profit on the reported €3.5 million they spent on signing him from Cesena in July 2012, they may be tempted to move him on.
