Corinthians President Roberto de Andrade has conceded that forward Paolo Guerrero is likely to move on.

The Peru international – capped 53 times [21 goals] – is out of contract in July and has struggled to agree renewed terms with Corinthians, despite ongoing discussions.

Reports suggest that his demands of around $165,000 per month are beyond what Corinthians can, or are willing, to give him and it now seems that his future lies elsewhere.

Speaking to reporters, de Andrade insisted he was eager to retain Guerrero, but admitted they cannot match his terms.

“I would like him to stay but given the club"s current economic situation we are not able to agree to terms," he stated, as noted by website Xinhuanet.

“We know what he is capable of. The (asking price) is too much for Corinthians but we accept that is what he is worth. We have spoken a lot over the past few months and have tried everything."

Guerrero was signed by Corinthians from Hamburger SV for a reported fee of €3.5 million in July 2012. Since then, the 31 year-old has scored 34 goals in 77 appearances and won three major honours, including the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup.

Earlier in his career, Guerrero also had a successful spell with Bayern Munich. With them, he lifted four titles [two Bundesliga’s and two DFB-Pokal], before moving on to Hamburger SV for a reported fee of €2.5 million in July 2006.
