Cláudio Taffarel is confident Brazil can continue their excellent recent form in next month’s Copa América.
Taffarel was recruited by Dunga, captain of that 1994 side to become goalkeeping coach after the latter had been appointed for a second stint as manager following Luiz Felipe Scolari’s departure last summer. Taffarel said: “No doubt the Copa América will be very important for us after what happened in the World Cup. We have to keep working as we did in the last friendlies. Our team are showing great character and respect to our supporters. Players are coming to the Seleção very happy and leaving also happy because we have a great atmosphere again. What happened in the past we can’t erase, but we can write a new future. The Seleção can show now in this Copa América that we have improved.”
