Chelsea will consider selling midfielder Oscar to fund a move for Liverpool midfielder Raheem Sterling, according to reports.

The Daily Star website claims that the Premier League holders are open to receiving offers for both Oscar and Colombia international Juan Cuadrado, as they look to beat Manchester City to the signing of Sterling, should he become available.

The notion that both Cuadrado and Oscar could be let go is bound to be met with surprise. The former was only signed from Fiorentina for a reported fee of €31 million in January and has a contract until June 2019.

He has, admittedly, struggled to make an impact, with no goals or assists in his 12 appearances, but was expected to be given time to settle in.

Oscar was also signed for a significant fee – €25 million from Internacional in July 2012 – and has four years left on his current contract.

This season, he has featured 41 times in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.

The 23 year-old has however, had to contend with a hamstring injury in recent weeks and was left out of Head Coach Dunga’s Brazil squad for next month’s Copa América.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with a move for him in the past and with Sterling potentially being available and capable of contributing to Chelsea’s homegrown quota, it is seemingly possible that Oscar could move on.
