Former Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has launched a stinking attack on the club and has said they ruin careers.

Gomes played for the London based side from 2008 to 2014 but dropped down the pecking order rapidly. After joining for nearly £8 million he ended up leaving on a free after becoming fourth choice between the sticks.

Now Gomes has said that Paulinho is wasting his career at the club along with other former high profile players.

“It’s the club (who are to blame). Certainly, I would not recommend anyone to join them.” Gomes told ESPN Brasil. “They paid £28million for Soldado, and they don’t play him. Or look at Lamela, who was a great prospect in Europe, but today you watch Tottenham games and he looks like he can’t play football at all.”

Gomes was angry in 2013 when he wanted to make a loan spell at Hoffeinheim permanent only for Spurs to demand £5 million from the German side. It seems that he still bears a rather large grudge.

“It’s the club (who are to blame). Certainly, I would not recommend to anyone (to join Spurs),” Gomes told ESPN Brasil.
