Young striker Kenedy is set to be absent for the next six weeks after undergoing sugery on his appendix.

The 19 year old striker first complained of stomach pain during the Brazil Under 20 training camp and was subsequently taken to the hospital. Scans revealed an inflamed appendix which has since been operated on.

Kenedy will now miss the Under 20 World Cup this summer which takes place in New Zealand. He has since been replaced by Malcom.

Kenedy has been attracting interest from abroad for his recent performances and clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be interested.
