Tottenham midfielder Paulinho is determined to pick up three points at Stoke after last week’s defeat against Manchester City.

Tottenham’s 1-0 loss at home to City extinguised any hopes of gaining a Champions League place for next season but Paulinho wants to rebuild, starting at the Britannia.

“We have to take our chances and score,” the 26-year-old told his club’s site. “We know it’s a difficult game at Stoke, they have a strong team so we have to be ready and focused on the match to get a result. Last Sunday’s game against Manchester City was disappointing because of the result, but the football was much better and now we are looking forward to facing Stoke.”

Paulinho faces an uncertain future and looks set to leave Tottenham this summer. Corinthians are interested in taking him back to Brazil but Paulinho has said he wants to stay in Europe.

“We have to get the chances and score”, the 26-year-old told his club’s site.
