Atlético Mineiro defeated Caldense to become Campeonato Mineiro champions while Internacional lifted the Campeonato Gaúcho trophy by overcoming rivals Grêmio.

In Minas Gerias, after a scoreless first-leg, Atlético Mineiro took home the Mineiro title on the strength of a 2-1 second leg win over Caldense. Former Manchester City striker Jô and Thiago Ribeiro scored for the winners. It was Jô’s first goal in 388 days. And in Rio Grande do Sul, Internacional topped arch rivals Grêmio 2-1 after a stalemate in the opening leg. Former Villarreal forward Nilmar scored first for Inter, followed by Valdivia. Giuliano, who arrived from Ukraine last year pulled one back for Grêmio.
