Marcelo is confident that Real Madrid can push Barcelona all the way in the race to secure the La Liga title.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side beat Celta de Vigo 4-2 at Balaídos on Sunday to move within two points of Barça at the top of the standings.

With just five round remaining, time is running out for Real to surpass the Catalan outfit, but Marcelo believes they are in perfect condition to take advantage of any slip up.

“We have a very clear objective in our minds and that is to play every game as if it was a final,” he told reporters, as reported by website Football Espana.

“We have enough gas in the tank, while the team is doing well and everyone is in excellent physical condition.

“We trust the Coach and he trusts us so we’ll keep on fighting right until the end, although we don’t know if Barcelona are going to slip up, but we are going try and win all our matches.”

Marcelo is likely be a key part of Real Madrid’s run-in. The 26 year-old has scored twice in 47 matches so far this season and limited Portugal international Fábio Coentrão to just 15 appearances.

Real’s final five games of their La Liga campaign are against Almeria (H), Sevilla (A), Valencia (H), Espanyol (A) and Getafe (H). They also have two legs of their UEFA Champions League semi-final with Juventus to contend with.

In contrast, Barcelona face Getafe (H), Córdoba (A), Real Sociedad (H), Atlético de Madrid (A) and Deportivo (H), as well as having two European ties with Bayern Munich and the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Club.
