Chelsea manager José Mourinho expects Oscar to be fit for Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City.

The Brazil international – capped 45 times – had to be replaced at half-time of Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Arsenal, after reportedly being concussed following a collision with Gunners’ goalkeeper David Ospina.

Oscar was immediately taken to hospital and Mourinho confirmed after the game that he had undergone some scans, but was eventually discharged and stayed in his own home on Sunday night.

Speaking on Monday, Mourinho suggested that Oscar will travel to Leicester and is fit to play, though refused to confirm whether he will definitely be involved.

“Oscar left the hospital and stayed at home last night. He should be here today. Everybody will travel to Leicester,” he said, as reported by website Sky Sports.

“I really don’t know if he will definitely play. His face was swelling and we did not want to go for any risk (in the second half against Arsenal).

“I know that for me the most important thing is that last night he was not in hospital (overnight), he went to his house and slept at home.”

Oscar was signed by Chelsea from Internacional for a reported fee of €25 million in July 2012.

Since then, he has been part of a side that has won the UEFA Europa League and Football League Cup.

This season, he has scored seven goals in 41 appearances in all competitions, but has started inconsistently of late and has been linked with a move to Juventus in the summer transfer window.
