Santos President Modesto Roma Júnior has flown to Milan to try and secure an agreement for forward Robinho.

The 31 year-old has been on loan with Santos since August 2014 and with that deal expiring at the end of June, Roma Júnior is now looking for a solution to either extend it or secure a permanent transfer.

The businessman has a scheduled meeting in place with Milan to discuss Robinho"s future and he is seemingly confident about finding a positive outcome.

“We are going to Italy to talk to the club [Milan] about Robinho," he told Lancenet, as reported by website Xinhuanet.

“I wouldn"t be making the trip if I didn"t think it was worthwhile. It"s important for our group that we try to keep him."

Robinho started his career with Santos and was part of the side that won the 2002 and 2004 Brasileirão titles, before moving to Real Madrid in August 2005 for a reported fee of €24 million.

His spell in Spain brought him three major honours, including two La Liga titles, but he was eventually sold on to Manchester City in September 2008 for a reported fee of €43 million.

Robinho would have a good start in England, but his form dwindled and he was loaned back to Santos in January 2010 and then sold on to Milan in August of the same year for a reported fee of €18 million.

With the Rossoneri, he won one Serie A title and one Supercoppa Italiana, before returning to Santos for a third spell after almost four years in Italy.
