Former Brazil striker Ronaldo was in Saint-Etienne on Monday to support his former team mate Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane was hosting a Match Against Poverty and Ronaldo was one of the first players to jump at the chance to help. The two former Real Madrid players share a close friendship from their time at the club.
“I will remember forever that first injury I had to endure,” Ronaldo told L’Equipe. “This time when Zinedine came to visit me in the hospital to wish me a speedy recovery. This unforgettable gesture, while I was not sure if I could return to football, meant a lot to me. He testified the depth of his friendship.”
