Arsenal goalkeeping legend David Seaman believes that Arsene Wenger has finally solved his defensive problems with the addition of Gabriel Paulista to the Gunners’ back line.
The Brazilian centre-back has only played five Premier League games since signing from Villareal in January, but he has done enough already to impress the former England international.
"Yes, I think he can solve that problem [in defence]," Seaman told The Independent. "The thing is with [Per] Mertesacker we don’t know how long he’s going to go on for. I understand that he’s retired from international football which is giving signals of what’s going on in his mind.
"With Paulista, he reminds me of a cross between Des Walker and Martin Keown, that’s who he reminds me of. I don’t know why. The way that he plays and looks just reminds me of that, but he’s had a few injuries and it will take him some time to adjust to the Premier League, because it does."
