Barcelona are ready to make an improved offer to Dani Alves to get the defender to commit his future to the Camp Nou and ward off any potential suitors, says reports in Spain.

The Brazil international is out of contract at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move away as a free agent, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly monitoring the situation. United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly earmarked the signing of a replacement for out of favour Rafael as one of the top priorities of the summer. Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also considering the signing of a right-back due to the uncertain future of Glen Johnson, whose contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of this campaign.
