Roma are making progress on a deal for Torino wing-back Bruno Peres, according to reports.

The website of respected Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Giallorossi have agreed personal terms with the player and now only need to match Torino’s reported €20 million valuation to conclude the transfer.

Interest from UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists FC Porto could complicate negotiations however, while Roma will almost certainly want to lower Torino’s asking price – a fee they are unlikely to match.

Peres has come to the fore this season with the Granata, following his move from Santos in September 2014 for a reported fee of just €2 million.

The 25 year-old, who has a contract until June 2017, has featured 27 times in Serie A so far this term, scoring twice and providing five assists.

His goal against Juventus in the Derby della Mole at Juventus Stadium will likely be considered one of the best of the season in Italy, while he also struck in a 5-1 win over Sampdoria.

Torino Head Coach Giampiero Ventura has left Peres out of just one Serie A match since he arrived at the club, with the only other game he missed being a 1-0 win against Internazionale due to suspension.

If Peres makes the move to Roma, he will likely be used as a long-term replacement for fellow Brazilian Maicon, who has struggled with injury this term.
