Atlético Mineiro lost 1-0 to Atlas in Mexico last night to leave their hopes of qualification for the knock out stages of the Copa Libertadores hanging by a thread.

Arturo Gonzalez’s goal for Atlas left Galo needing to win by two goals in their final game at home to Colo Colo in order to qualify.

Atlético developed a reputation for unlikely comebacks during their victorious 2013 Libertadores campaign, and Levir Culpi’s men will be confident of another famous victory when the host the Chileans in what is sure to be a raucous and intimidating atmosphere at the Arena Independência next Wednesday evening.
