Bayern Munich Head Coach Pep Guardiola has name checked midfielder Casemiro as a possible threat ahead of his side’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against FC Porto.

The Brazilian, who is on loan from Real Madrid, is expected to start for the Dragões at Estádio do Dragão on Wednesday and Guardiola sees him as a key part of a group of "very good" midfield players that Bayern will have to contend with.

"They [Porto] will want to play from the back, to have the ball then use the likes of [Ricardo] Quaresma and [Yacine] Brahimi on the wings," he said, as reported by UEFA’s official website.

"They have very good players in midfield like [Juan] Quintero, [Héctor] Herrera and Casemiro. Herrera is a fantastic player who is having a fantastic season. He looks slow but is very powerful – one of their best players. Brahimi is a great player too."

Casemiro has come to the fore at Porto this season, with a return of four goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.

The 23 year-old, who was signed by Real Madrid from São Paulo for a reported fee of €6 million, has missed just two games in the UEFA Champions League, while he"s on a run of six consecutive starts in the Primeira Liga.
