Barcelona Director of football Ariedo Braida has denied the club are interested in Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson.

The Catalunya based outfit are currently unable to act in the market due a transfer ban that runs until January 2016, but they are seemingly still looking to prepare moves for players for when they are able to sign once more.

One of the names that have been increasingly linked is Lazio’s Anderson. The 21 year-old has come to the fore the season with a return of eleven goals in 28 appearances, including four goals in his last five outings.

With the Brazilian considered a close ally of Barça’s Neymar – they played together at Santos – a move to Spain would seem plausible, but Braida has been quick to rule out a possible approach in the near future.

“There is nothing in it, “he said, as reported by website Football Espana. “Newspapers say a lot of things and Barcelona follow 10 players every day. At the moment Felipe Anderson is not a player we are following.”

Anderson was signed by Lazio from Santos for a reported fee of €7.5 million in July 2013. Since then, he has gone on to score 12 goals in 48 appearances and is contracted with the Biancocelesti until June 2020.
