Atlético Paranaense midfielder Nathan has taken to his personal Twitter account to confirm that he is set to sign for Chelsea.

The 19 year-old had been expected to undergo a medical and agree any outstanding personal terms with the Fulham based club on Tuesday and outlayed his happiness at closing out the final stages of his move on social media.

"Very happy!!! London to sign my contract with Chelsea and take medical," he stated on his Twitter account [@nathanallan10] on Tuesday, as reported by website LONDON24.

Chelsea are yet to officially confirm the deal, but reports suggest they will pay around €7.6 million.

Nathan first came to prominence as part of a Brazil under-17 side that was knocked out at the quarter-final stage on penalties by Mexico at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

During that tournament, he scored five goals – only Swede Valmir Berisha (seven) and fellow Brazilian Boschilia (six) got more – and would eventually make his debut for Atlético Paranaense’s first-team in a 1-1 draw with Corinthians in May 2014.

Since then, he has gone on to feature 13 times in all competitions for the Furacão and also played for Brazil’s under-20 outfit at the 2015 South American Youth Football Championship, where he scored once to help them finish 4th.

Nathan’s time with Atlético Paranaense has become complicated in recent months due to a disagreement surrounding his contract, which was set to expire at the end of March.

Atlético claimed that they had an option to extend the agreement for two more years, but Nathan’s father and agent José Carlos de Souza, insisted his son should be able to negotiate with other teams.

That stand off led to the matter being taken to court, though Chelsea’s approach, reportedly at the end expense of Premier League rivals Manchester City, has seemingly ensured the matter will not be pursued.
