Atlético Mineiro were held 1-1 by Cruzeiro in the first-leg Minas Gerais state championship semi-final at the Estádio Independencia yesterday.
Carlos opened the scoring for the hosts when he tapped in Luan’s low cross after 39 minutes, but Cruzeiro equalised after half time with a brilliant solo effort from Uruguayan midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta.
The competition’s other semi-final first-leg also finished all square as Caldense drew 0-0 at Tombense.
