Former Argentina Head Coach Alejandro Sabella has been given 48 hours to choose whether he wants to wait for Manchester City or pursue a deal with São Paulo, according to reports.

The Daily Star claims that the 60 year-old already has an offer from São Paulo to fill the void left by the departure of Muricy Ramalho, who stepped down from his role due to health problems earlier this month.

Sabella however, is believed to have put the Soberano on standby, due to reported interest from Manchester City, though whether the Premier League holders will follow through and make a concrete bid for him to replace current incumbent Manuel Pellegrini remains to be seen.

With Sabella stalling, amid suggestions that City is his preference, the Daily Star states that São Paulo have told him that they want an answer to their proposal by Tuesday, or will look elsewhere for another candidate to replace Ramalho.

Given that City will likely be exploring other options as possible alternatives to Pellegrini, Sabella may ultimately find himself overlooked, even if the Chilean is moved on.

With that in mind, the tactician, who has had success in both his most recent roles with Estudiantes de La Plata and Argentina, may prefer to accept São Paulo’s other, rather than potentially missing out on managing both them and City.
