Atlético Mineiro continued another epic Copa Libertadores turnaround last night as they beat Santa Fé 2-0 at the Estadio Independencia.

Carlos put Atlético in front after 13 minutes with a powerful shot on the bounce before his second-half replacement Guilherme made the points safe with a break-away goal in injury time.

Levir Culpi’s side had looked dead and buried after losing their first two group games to Colo Colo and Atlas, but after a heroic win against Santa Fé in Bogota last night’s victory now sees Galo level on six points with the Colombians, three points behind group leaders Colo Colo, with two games remaining.
