Philippe Coutinho has said Liverpool winning the FA Cup would save their season.
Liverpool’s hopes of securing Champions League qualification suffered another setback on Saturday as they lost 4-1 to Arsenal, leaving the club seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand. Coutinho said: “We have to pick our heads up and keep believing. We have to keep going for fourth. We have more games to come and lots of things can still happen. Of course, winning the cup would save our season. It is very important for us to have that as an objective. It would be a successful season to finish fifth and win the cup, but we want to be in the Champions League. That is our primary objective.”
