Liverpool are reportedly lining up a shock move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Douglas Costa.
Costa, 24, was a target for Chelsea during the January transfer window and is believed to be on their radar this summer. A £20million bid is set to go in from the Stamford Bridge club, but reports say Liverpool are looking to hijack the deal. As mentioned in Metro, the Brazilian has appeared 133 times for Shakhtar and is a fan favourite, but the Ukrainian club are willing to let him go given the country’s political turmoil. Liverpool couldn’t match the huge salary Chelsea are likely to put forward, but they could offer regular playing time, which is expected to sway things.
