Luis Suárez’ maiden El Clásico goal inspired Barcelona to a 2-1 win over arch rivals Real Madrid.
The Catalan outfit opened the scoring in the 19th minute via Jérémy Mathieu, the most unlikeliest of scorers, with a superb header off a Lionel Messi free-kick. But Real Madrid ended the first period in blazing fashion; Cristiano Ronaldo drew them level with an expert finish. Brazilian full-back Dani Alves, who’s reportedly on his way out of Barcelona in the summer with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United linked, found Uruguayan star Suárez with a brilliantly lofted ball and the number 9 did ever so well to bring the ball down before hitting the back of the net.
