Philippe Coutinho has insisted Liverpool “will do everything to come out victorious” against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Reds comes into the tie at Anfield two points adrift of their fierce rivals and with a place in the top four and possible qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League at stake, Coutinho knows it will take a notable performance to see off United.

“We will do everything to come out victorious,” he told Sky Sports.

“These are two teams fighting for the same position, so for sure it will be a very difficult game, very complicated, where both want to win at any cost.

“It is an extremely important game. We still have a few games until the end of the season, so of course this is a game to give us confidence as well – and also to make the final stage a positive one.”

Liverpool are currently on a run of five wins in a row in the Premier League. During that spell, Coutinho has contributed two goals, while his overall tally for the season stands at five goals in 41 appearances.

The 22 year-old, who was signed from Internazionale for a reported fee of €10 million in January 2013, is expected to retain his place against Manchester United, with fellow Brazilian Lucas Leiva set to be named as a substitute.
