Brazilian full-back Dani Alves is set to snub a move to Manchester United by extending his contract at Barcelona.

As reported by Daily Star, United boss Louis van Gaal has made Alves one of his summer transfer targets as he looks to solve his right back problem at Old Trafford. The Dutchman is willing to sell Rafael to the highest bidder, while the likes of Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones have all failed to establish themselves in the position. It is understood United have sounded-out Alves about a possible move to Manchester following his contract stand-off with Barcelona. But it has emerged Alves is reluctant to join United as he considers his options. It is understood Alves is worried United won’t be in the Champions League and still remains hopeful of resurrecting negotiations with Barça.
