Manchester City’s Fernando has praised his compatriot Philippe Coutinho and says he is one of the best Brazilian footballers in Europe at the moment.

Coutinho scored the winning goal against City when Fernando and his team mates travelled to Anfield. Fernando said that he congratulated the diminutive Brazilian after the game.

“I wanted to say ‘well done’ to him after his winning goal. For me, he is the best Brazilian playing in Europe at the moment.”

Fernando also revealed how he believes he can improve after not hitting his peak in England.

“It’s really hard. I haven’t reached my level here yet and the language is a problem. The Premier League is very challenging. This season has gone OK, I think, but I’m hoping my next season will be a lot better.”
