David Luiz has revealed that Chelsea wanted to keep the centre back but he turned down their offer of a new contract.

Luiz moved to Paris Saint Germain in the summer for £50 million but the curly haired Brazilian is adament Chelsea didn’t want him to leave.

“Chelsea offered me a new contract but I also knew that PSG wanted me – and as soon as I knew that I wanted to leave. Chelsea wanted me to stay – that is why they offered me a new contract – but I did not feel so much at home like I did two or three seasons before.”

Luiz will now have another chance to go up against his former team mates as PSG travel to Chelsea tonight for the second leg of their Champions League tie.
