Botafogo’s goalkeeper Jefferson sat down to talk about last year’s World Cup and what he learnt from their failure.

Jefferson gave an interview to Brasil Global Tour, and was quoted: “Of course, it was sad for everyone. However, I think maybe we – not only the players but all the Brazilian people – created a certain responsibility that we had to win at all costs, that we had to be champion – people were almost expecting it. But many strong teams came prepared. My lesson is this example: we do not have to put so much pressure on ourselves, so much anxiety to win. We created too big a responsibility, which we were not ready for. In the Confederations Cup it was just the opposite, nobody spoke much about winning and we ended as champions. Regardless of what happens, we cannot create something that maybe we are not prepared to put up with.”
