Former Arsenal forward Ian Wright has hailed the influence midfielder Philippe Coutinho has had at Liverpool in recent weeks.
The Brazil international, who was signed from Internazionale, has been a standout performer, as Brendan Rodgers continue to challenge for the top four and Wright believes that he can become one of the best players in the league, despite previously doubting him.
“Liverpool have now lost just once in 19 games and Coutinho has arguably played a bigger part in that run than anyone. Not bad for a guy who cost just £8.5million two years ago,” he said, as reporte by The Sun.
“No less a player than Neymar insisted recently that Coutinho could be the biggest star in the Premier League. I thought that was maybe going over the top a bit at the time – now I’m not so sure.”
