Brazilian midfielder Jádson has aborted a planned move to China by announcing he will remain at Corinthians.
The Brazilian club and China’s Jiangsu Sainty had agreed in principal to the transfer but the 31-year-old reneged at the last minute. “The only person that could decide he didn’t want to go was the player himself,” Corinthians’ football director Sergio Luiz Janikian told Rádio Bandeirantes on Wednesday.
“He thought about it and decided that Corinthians was the best option in terms of his career. The Chinese club also sent us the necessary documents to cancel the operation.”
Despite the club missing out on a reported €5 million fee for Jádson, the decision is likely to have satisfied coach Tite and Corinthians’ fans.
