Tardelli is confident his recent move to China won’t cost him his place in the national team. appeared to have cemented his status as Brazil's first choice 'false 9' in Dunga's team, but a recent switch from Atlético Mineiro to Shandong Luneng has sparked speculation that he may now face a fight to keep his place. He was quoted in GOAL: "I am very hopeful that it [playing in China] will not mess up my plans. After everything that happened and everything that I've shown for the national team, regardless of where I am playing, I don't think it will be a problem. I'm very calm, but if I'm not called up I will keep trying to impress Dunga."
