Head Coach Pep Guardiola is happy Bayern Munich were able to keep Brazilian trio Alex Teixeira, Taison and Douglas Costa “under control” during the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Despite going down to ten men – Xabi Alonso was sent off – Bayern were able to dominate large spells of the contest, but ultimately had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Speaking afterwards, Guardiola insisted he was pleased with the performance and particularly satisfied with they way his players handled Shakhtar’s dangerous Brazilians.

“It was a very good match today,” he said, as reported by UEFA’s official website. “We created a few scoring opportunities and made sure that our opponents were unable to create any dangerous situations near our goal. We were able to keep Alex Teixeira, Taison and Douglas Costa under control and I am very happy with this.”
