Defender Felipe is to undergo medical examinations and train with Internazionale ahead of possible move, according to reports.

The website of respected Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the 30 year-old could be signed towards the end of the week, but must first impress in training and then successfully pass a medical in Milan on Tuesday.

Felipe has been a free agent since leaving Parma at the start of this month. The centre-back was allowed to move on, despite featuring 12 times this season, due to the club’s ongoing financial complications.

With the likes of Jonathan, Yuto Nagatomo, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Marco Andreolli all injured or struggling for fitness, his arrival at Inter would seemingly be welcomed.

For Head Coach Roberto Mancini however, the deal is not guaranteed and is dependant on Thursday’s UEFA Europa League tie at Celtic.

“Will we sign Felipe? We’ll see what happens, it depends on the Europa League,” he stated, as reported by website Football Italia.

If Felipe does earn a switch to Inter, they would be the fifth club he has represented in Serie A, following his spells at Cesena, Fiorentina, Siena and Parma.
