Internazionale will move for free agent Felipe if their defensive injury problems increase, according to reports.

Respected Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the 30 year-old centre-back has been put on standby and could arrive immediately if any further issues arise on the back of Sunday’s 4-1 win at Atalanta.

Felipe has been without a club since leaving Parma at the start of this month. The Guaratinguetá native made 12 appearances for the Ducali this season, but moved on with the club in financial difficulties and struggling to pay player wages.

His potential arrival at Inter would help cover for the injured Jonathan, Yuto Nagatomo, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Marco Andreolli, even if the report suggests the latter two may yet be fit come Thursday’s UEFA Europa League tie away to Celtic at Celtic Park.

If Felipe does make the move to Inter, they would be the fifth club he has represented in Serie A, following on from Cesena, Fiorentina, Siena and Parma.
