Defender Rhodolfo has insisted he is happy to remain at Grêmio, despite reported interest from Internazionale.

The Italian Serie A outfit were believed to have considered Rhodolfo as a possible defensive reinforcement in the January transfer window.

No deal was ever agreed between the respective parties involved however, and though Rhodolfo admits he was pleased to be tracked by Inter, he is also satisfied to continue with Grêmio.

“I am very happy to still be here,” he told Gremista ZH, as reported by website Forza Italian Football.

“It is clear that playing at a big club like Inter is a dream for every player, but I am aware of the efforts that Grêmio made to keep me.“

Rhodolfo first joined Grêmio on loan from São Paulo in July 2013. The 28 year-old, who has also played for Atlético Paranaense, has made 54 appearances, scoring twice, for Grêmio and signed permanently with them in January.

If Rhodolfo had made the move on to Inter in the window, then he would have joined fellow Brazilians Dodô, Hernanes, Jonathan and Juan Jesus in Milan.
